The "Vietnamese families with Lao and Cambodian students studying in Ho Chi Minh City" program brought together Vietnamese families who have adopted students from Laos and Cambodia, as well as representatives from Lao and Cambodian families with children participating in the program, for an afternoon meeting and exchange program on August 16, 2023. Ho Chi Minh City's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee is in charge of coordinating this event, which aims to strengthen ties of friendship and solidarity among the Vietnamese, Laotian, and Cambodian people.

On the afternoon of August 10, 2023, a meeting at the level of a deputy minister was held in Vientiane, Laos. The meeting was held between a high-ranking delegation from Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security, led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, a member of the Party Central Committee and the Deputy Minister of Public Security, and a delegation from Laos' Ministry of Public Security, led by Lieutenant General Kham Kinh Phuilamanivong, the Deputy Minister of Public Security of Laos.

On August 1, a meeting was held between the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province and the Lao Front Committee for National Construction of Se Kong province in Tam Ky city. The purpose of the talks was to strengthen the solidarity and friendship between the two provinces.

Vietnam has secured the second place in terms of the number of tourists visiting Laos, according to the Lao Tourism Development Department. The number of Vietnamese tourists visiting Laos has shown a steady growth rate of 10.8%, contributing to their high ranking among international visitors.
