With great contributions in the work of honoring President Ho Chi Minh, Kaysone Phomvihane Museum of Laos was awarded the Friendship Medal by the Party and State of Vietnam.

On the morning of June 7, 2023, in the capital Vientiane, the Awarding Ceremony of the Friendship Medal of the State of Vietnam to Kaysone Phomvihane Museum was solemnly held. The ceremony took place in the presence of comrade Nguyen Ba Hung, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos; Representatives of the Central Office of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, along with officials and employees of the Museum and the press agencies of the two countries.

During the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State of Vietnam, Ambassador Nguyen Ba Hung respectfully awarded the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum the Friendship Medal. The medal is an encouragement for the Museum's great achievements in its efforts to honor President Ho Chi Minh - Vietnam's national liberation hero and world cultural celebrity.

Sharing at the Medal awarding ceremony, comrade Nguyen Ba Hung affirmed that the solidarity, special friendship and comprehensive cooperative relationship between the two nations were recognized by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane and Chairman Suphanouvong laid the first bricks as a solid foundation.

After receiving the Friendship Medal from the Party and State of Vietnam on behalf of the Department of Kaysone Phomvihane Museum and the Lao Revolutionary Leader's Monument, Director General of the Department of Kaysone Phomvihane Museum, Mr. Xayalath Phoneyalak expressed his honor when the Museum received this noble medal. He shared that the Department is currently entrusted by the Lao People's Revolutionary Party to build and manage the Memorial of President Ho Chi Minh at 3 locations in the capital Vientiane, Khammuane province and Savanakhet province. In 2012 and 2014, the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Sites in Khammuane and Savannkhet provinces were completed and put into official use, respectively.
