According to a Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Vientiane, on September 7, as part of a working visit on community work in Laos, Deputy Foreign Minister, Head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos, Mr. Tinh Souksan, on cooperation issues between the two countries, focusing on sharing information and experience in supporting overseas residents in the country.

Talking about the significance and importance of Laos and Vietnam establishing diplomatic relations 61 years ago, General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith emphasized that this is a historical event and a milestone. The importance of the relationship stems from the two countries' struggle on the political and diplomatic fronts, as well as their military balance.
