Laos Continues to Focus on Economic Challenges in May
The central task of the Lao government in May 2024 is to address urgent economic and financial issues. This will be achieved by implementing the practical measures and legal documents outlined by the Special Task Force 19/BCT. The government will also encourage increased production and implement budget collection from sources that exceed the planned revenue targets.

Enhancing Cooperation Between Vietnam and Laos
On the morning of May 2, at Paris (France), on the occasion of attending the 2024 Ministerial Council Meeting of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Vietnam's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bui Thanh Son, held meetings with Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Saleumxay Kommasith, Croatian Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, Gordan Grlic Radman, and Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Simonas Satunas.

Fostering Exchange and Collaboration Between Dong Thap Province and Laos' Salavan and Champasak Provinces
A delegation from Dong Thap province recently completed a successful working trip to Laos. A journalist from Dong Thap Newspaper had an interview with Mr. Tran Tri Quang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee, regarding the ongoing efforts to enhance exchange and cooperation between Dong Thap and the provinces of Salavan and Champasak in the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

New Vietnam-Laos Trade Agreement Officially Signed
On the morning of April 8, 2024, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien held talks with Lao Minister of Industry and Trade Malaithong Kommasith, during which they signed the new Vietnam-Laos Trade Agreement. They also witnessed the signing of several cooperation memorandums between the two countries. These activities were part of Minister Nguyen Hong Dien's working visit to Vientiane, Laos, from April 6 to April 8.
