Strengthening Solidarity Among Vietnamese, Lao, and Cambodian Delegations at the UN

According to a correspondent from Vietnam News Agency at the United Nations, in a warm and friendly atmosphere, Ambassador Anouparb Vongnorkeo, Head of the Lao Permanent Mission, warmly congratulated the significant achievements attained by the Party, State, and fraternal people of Vietnam in the Year of the Cat 2023. Praising the special cooperative and friendly relations between the two countries, Ambassador Anouparb affirmed the commitment to continuing the tradition of close and reliable coordination between the Lao and Vietnamese Missions at the UN headquarters in New York in the coming period.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Sophea Eat of Cambodia expressed delight at the comprehensive, sustainable, and long-lasting development of the good neighborly and traditionally friendly relations between Cambodia and Vietnam, and extended New Year wishes for success and prosperity in the Year of the Dragon 2024 to the Government and people of Vietnam.

Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang expressed enthusiasm about the continuous development of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. He appreciated the warm sentiments from the Lao Mission and Ambassador Anouparb, and reaffirmed that the Vietnamese Mission will continue to support Laos in successfully fulfilling its role as Chair of the ASEAN Committee at the UN (ANYC) in 2024.

He also commended the friendly relations between Vietnam and Cambodia and the excellent cooperation between the two delegations; expressed confidence in the vast potential for further deepening cooperation in all aspects. The two ambassadors also took time to discuss various mutual concerns at the UN and agreed to continue strengthening exchanges and coordination between their delegations in the future.

At the UN headquarters in Geneva, on February 5th, the Lao delegation led by Ambassador Latsamy Keomany visited the Vietnamese Mission to extend New Year's greetings on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.

According to a correspondent from Vietnam News Agency in Geneva, in a warm and friendly atmosphere, Ambassador Latsamy Keomany conveyed his wishes for the staff of the Vietnamese Mission in Geneva to enjoy good health, happiness, and continued success. He also praised the close and effective coordination between the Lao and Vietnamese delegations in Geneva over the past period and expressed hope that the two delegations will continue to advance cooperation and further strengthen the solidarity between Vietnam and Laos in 2024, in line with the spirit of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Permanent Mission in Geneva, Chargé d'Affaires Khuong Duc Han expressed pleasure in welcoming the Lao delegation and extended his gratitude to them. He also voiced confidence that under the wise leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Laos and its people will continue to achieve even greater accomplishments in all areas and further enhance Laos's position in the region and on the international stage.

During the meeting, Chargé d'Affaires Khuong Duc Han expressed a desire for the two delegations to further strengthen their cooperation in the future and affirmed his readiness to support and collaborate with Laos on multilateral issues in Geneva, particularly as Laos assumes the role of Chair of the ASEAN Group in Geneva in 2024.
