It is believed that the competent authorities of both countries will find it easier to carry out their mutual legal aid obligations as a result of this historic agreement, which seeks to update and enhance the current legal framework. Vietnam and Laos are two adjacent nations that have worked together for a long time, and this partnership has only grown stronger.

This ratification represents a forward step in international legal and judicial cooperation, which is in accordance with the State's and the Communist Party of Vietnam's strategic objective. By doing so, it will hopefully strengthen the legal framework that Vietnamese persons and legal entities overseas may rely on to defend and enforce their rights and interests.

As a tangible embodiment of the execution of Resolution No. 27-NQ/TW dated November 9, 2022, from the 6th Plenum of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the agreement's acceptance is further significant. The resolution's central theme is the continuation and finalization of Vietnam's socialist rule-of-law state in preparation for the next age. The parties to civil proceedings involving Vietnam and Laos are anticipated to benefit from improved conflict settlement and legal assistance as a result of the association. Among its features are mechanisms for the sharing of legal documents, the acknowledgment and execution of court rulings, and the streamlining of many other judicial workflows.
