Vientiane – The first scientific symposium between the Vietnam Military Medical University and the Laos Military Medical University took place in Vientiane, Laos, on July 18.

Addressing the event, deputy head of the General Logistics Department of the Laos People’s Army Maj. Gen. Khampheth Sisanon said that the function helped to update science-related knowledge for lecturers of the universities, offering them a chance to share their experiences in scientific research in order to help train young scientists to better serve healthcare, treatment, and diagnosis for military officers.

He took the occasion to thank the Vietnamese Party, State, and people for their support to their Lao counterparts.

Director of the Vietnam Military Medical University Maj. Gen. Do Quyet spoke highly of the ongoing cooperation between the two universities, affirming that the event was of particular significance as it helped strengthen ties and intensify bilateral scientific collaboration.

On this occasion, the two universities signed a cooperation plan for the 2018-2019 period, in which the Vietnam Military Medical University will maintain support for the Laos side in several fields such as training postgraduates, sharing experiences in managing students, and controlling education and training quality.

It will continue providing equipment and textbooks to serve training works for the Laos side as well as coordinate in building scientific research projects in the military medical-pharmaceutical field.
