Vietnam, Laos foster cooperation on military logistics

The statement was made by Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, Deputy Minister of National Defense at the reception for Lieutenant General Vongkham Phommakon, Director of the General Department of Logistics of the Lao People’s Army, on September 23 in Hanoi.

During the meeting, the two sides highlighted the high efficiency of logistics cooperation between the two militaries in various fields, including education and training and military supplies, contributing to ensuring combat strength of each military, helping each military accomplish its assigned tasks, and tightening the comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States, militaries, and peoples.

General Don also asked the General Departments of Logistics of the Vietnam People's Army and Lao People's Army to promote delegation exchanges and information sharing.

Furthermore, they should actively make recommendations to both Defense Ministries to strengthen the operation of the military logistics sector, improve professional qualifications for logistics officers and workers, and issue appropriate policies to develop the logistic sector so as to be able to accomplish its missions in any circumstances.

* On the same day, Major General Tran Duy Giang, Director of the General Departments of Logistics of the Vietnam People's Army had talks with Lieutenant General Vongkham Phommakon.

At the talks

On this occasion, the two sides reviewed the outcomes of their cooperation over the past time as well as discussed solutions to promote the bilateral cooperation in the time to come.
