Vietnam Is Always Ready to Support Laos' Development

Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, welcomed a high-ranking delegation of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party to visit and work in the city on October 19.

Secretary Nguyen Van Nen reiterated the tradition of mutual love and affection between Vietnam and Laos at a reception hosted by Mr. Phoykham Hungbounyuang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Xaisomboun.

The two countries have always given each other tremendous, sincere, meaningful support during the past struggle for independence as well as in today's national innovation, construction and development.

Mr. Nen stated that the Lao delegation's business trip took place following the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia summit in September 2023, with many very positive outcomes.

"This working visit of the comrades is even more meaningful in the context that the two Parties and two countries are working together to overcome many difficulties due to the impact of the world political and economic situation. ; focus on effectively implementing each country's socio-economic recovery and development plan after the COVID-19 pandemic and have achieved many outstanding achievements," Mr. Nen went on to say.

According to Secretary Nguyen Van Nen, Ho Chi Minh City leaders constantly monitor and are pleased with the results of Party building work and Laos' recent efforts to overcome economic development challenges.

Since the two countries launched the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam 2022 Year of Solidarity and Friendship, Ho Chi Minh City has had the honor of welcoming many working delegations from Laos, including three high-level delegations from the Party. The Lao revolutionary people came to study and exchange ideas in accordance with the policies of the two parties' politburos.

Secretary Nguyen Van Nen also had the honor of leading the Ho Chi Minh City delegation on its first overseas business trip to Laos in 2022.

According to Mr. Nen, the Lao delegation's visit was not only an exchange of experiences, but also a meeting of close brothers like a family.

"Ho Chi Minh City is always committed to continuing with the entire country to promote the traditions, great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam, striving to create change," Mr. Nen said.

Mr. Phoykham Hungbounyuang responded by saying that this business trip was like visiting Vietnamese brothers, and that the topics covered in the exchange program were extremely practical.

Mr. Phoykham Hungbounyuang thanked Vietnam for its unwavering support of Laos, noting that the two parties and the state fought side by side in the resistance war, and that Vietnam has continued to assist Laos in building the country.

Xaisomboun, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, stated that Laos faced many challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, and that the global economic situation affected inflation and prices in Laos.

Mr. Phoykham Hungbounyuang stated that the Lao delegation hopes to learn a lot during this working trip to help solve Laos' current problems.
