Vietnam Cultural Week 2019 held in Laos

On December 5, Vietnam Cultural Week 2019 was kicked of at the Lao National Culture Hall in Vientiane. The event is being co-organised by Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Laos’ Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.

Attending the opening ceremony were Laos’ Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune; Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien; Vietnam Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien said the Vietnam Culture Week 2019 is an important cultural exchange event with great significance to implement the agreement between high level leaders of the two countries on strengthening Vietnam - Laos relations, as well as carry out cultural and tourism cooperation plans between the two nations. He expected that the event will mark an important milestone, actively contributing to consolidate and strengthen special relations between Vietnam and Laos.

Laos’ Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, welcomed the organisation of the event in Laos, highlighting it demonstrates the special friendship and solidarity between the two Parties, States and peoples.

During the event, artists from the Vietnam National Music, Song and Dance Theatre played unique Vietnamese national instrument, performed unique songs and dances praising the homeland and people of Vietnam and Laos.
