Trade Union Vice President receives Laos counterpart

Hanoi – Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) Nguyen Thi Thu Hong held a working session with a delegation from the Central Committee of the Laos Federation of Trade Unions (LFTU) led by its Vice President Tong Yia Yang Yong Sheng in Hanoi on September 19.
Hong said the VGCL is preparing for its 12th congress in September, adding that she highly values the two sides’ work in carrying out a Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral cooperation for 2013-2018, focusing on personnel training and capacity improvement for Laos trade union officials.
The Laos official said the delegation had held working sessions with trade unions of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry and Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to share experience.
He said the LFTU is preparing for congresses at the grassroots level towards holding its National Congress in late 2019.
The host lauded close collaboration between the two countries’ trade unions.
