Trade Figures Between Vietnam and Laos for January 2024

Vietnam's exports to Laos totaled $56.8 million, up 104.4% from January 2023. Major export items included: petroleum products ($11.6 million, up 276%); iron and steel products ($5.44 million, up 176.6%); transportation vehicles and parts ($4.3 million, up 118.7%); machinery, equipment, and spare parts ($3.3 million, up 83.6%); various types of iron and steel ($2.98 million, up 18.2%); ceramics ($1.8 million, up 79.4%); plastic products ($1.4 million, up 32.8%); vegetables and fruits ($1.2 million, down 36.2%); paper and paper products ($1 million, up 19.5%).

Imports from Laos to Vietnam amounted to $117.6 million, representing a 64.7% increase from the same period last year. Key import items included: rubber ($27.4 million, up 107.2%); wood and wood products ($11.2 million, up 62.2%); ores and other minerals ($9.2 million); corn ($8.5 million, up 19.9%); various fertilizers ($6.4 million, up 34%).
