According to a joint statement that was issued by the countries that make up the CLMV, there were around 4 million tourists from other countries who traveled to the CLMV countries during the first nine months of the year 2022.

The ministers praised the development of CLMV tourism cooperation, including the promotion of Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour through the connection of heritage routes, the increase in the number of airlines and direct flights connecting regional destinations, the removal of unnecessary barriers to travel, and the expansion of e-visas. They also praised the expansion of e-visas. Additionally, they lauded the proliferation of electronic visas. In addition to this, they praised the increasing availability of electronic visas.

It was stressed that there is a need to enhance the amount of collaborative tourist promotion and marketing activities, such as participating in international tourism events, fairs, and exhibitions. This is one example of the kind of activity that would fall under this category. This stipulation has been pushed to the forefront of the discussion. Beginning in the year 2024, it is predicted that Myanmar would play host to the CLMV Tourism Ministers Meeting for the very first time.
