During the joyous traditional New Year celebrations, Bun Pi May in Laos and Chol Chhnam Thmey in Cambodia, Nguyen Phu Trong, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, sent letters and floral tributes to Thongloun Sisoulith, his Laotian counterpart, and Hun Sen, the Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party, to convey his heartfelt greetings.

In his message to the General Secretary and President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong expressed the following sentiments:

“On the occasion of the traditional New Year, Bun Pi May, on behalf of the Party, State, and People of Vietnam, I extend to you and the leaders of the Party, State, and People of Laos our warmest comradely and brotherly greetings along with the best wishes.

I wish you and the leaders of the Party, State of Laos, and all your families a new year filled with abundant health, happiness, peace, and prosperity. As we step into the new year, we firmly believe that under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the brotherly people of Laos will overcome all difficulties and challenges, achieving even greater successes in the renewal process, and in the defense and construction of the country, striving towards the successful realization of a peaceful, independent, democratic, united, and prosperous Laos with socialist goals.

The Party, State, and People of Vietnam are deeply aware and rejoice in the continuous nurturing of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, which keeps growing deeper, more substantive, and effective across various fields, bringing tangible benefits to the people of each nation, contributing to the maintenance of peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.”

In his congratulatory letter to the Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Hun Sen, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong wrote: “On the occasion of the traditional Cambodian New Year (Chol Chhnam Thmey), on behalf of the Party, State, and People of Vietnam, I warmly extend to you and the leaders of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), the State and People of Cambodia our warmest comradely and brotherly greetings and the most heartfelt congratulations.

The Party, State, and People of Vietnam applaud the significant achievements in domestic and foreign affairs that Cambodia has realized recently. We are confident that under the wise reign of King Norodom Sihamoni, the leadership of the Cambodian People's Party, and the governance of the Royal Government of Cambodia, the Cambodian people will continue to achieve new and greater successes in the defense, construction, and development of the country, successfully organize the seventh National Assembly elections and the 32nd SEA Games.

On this occasion, President of Vietnam, Vo Van Thuong, sent floral tributes and greetings to the General Secretary and President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith, and to the King of Cambodia, Norodom Sihamoni.

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh extended floral tributes and greetings to the Prime Minister of the Lao Government, Sonexay Siphandone, and to the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Sen.

Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Vuong Dinh Hue, conveyed floral tributes and greetings to the President of Laos, Saysomphone Phomvihane, President of the Cambodian Senate, Say Chhum, and President of the Cambodian National Assembly, Heng Samrin.

These gestures are of significant importance, contributing to the strengthening of the friendly relations between the Party and Government of Vietnam with the neighboring countries' Parties and Governments of Laos and Cambodia, further solidifying and deepening the strategic and comprehensive cooperation between the nations in the present and future.
