On June 29, 2023, the annual meeting between the Police of Quang Nam and Se Kong provinces (Laos) was held in Tam Ky city, Quang Nam.

Co-chairing the conference, on the side of Quang Nam province, there was Major General Nguyen Duc Dung, Director of the Provincial Police, on the side of Se Kong province, there was Colonel Khamban Phom-man-ni-vong, Director of the Provincial Police.

During the conference, the results of the cooperative relationship between the two provinces' police forces in recent times were summarized and evaluated. Thereby, the cooperation between the two sides has achieved many encouraging results: maintaining the security situation, social order and safety of the two localities, ensuring the safety of the common border area, contributing to economic development and stability for each country's security.

The police forces of Quang Nam and Se Kong provinces are always active in exchanging information, continuously updating the situation of the two sides, and closely coordinating in verifying and promptly handling illegal immigration activities. Important political events, especially foreign affairs activities of Vietnam and Laos taking place in the two provinces are also cooperated by Quang Nam - Se Kong Police, ensuring absolute security.

In the work of preventing all types of crimes, the police of both sides regularly share experience and professional skills to help each other fight and deal with the complex and aggressive activities of criminals, especially drug offenders, smuggling and transnational human trafficking.

To promote information exchange and timely update of the situation, a 3-level hotline (province, district, commune) has been completed and put into use, with initial good results. This is the basis for Quang Nam - Se Kong Police to coordinate and proactively effectively prevent complex and unpredictable crime on the border between the two provinces.

In particular, the police of both sides cooperated in the planning process, topographic survey, construction supervision and putting into operation 16 police workhouses in villages in the bordered region of Quang Nam province and working in two non-bordering villages of Dak Chung district. The two sides also continue to start constructing on the Police Workhouse project in Dak Chung district, expected to be completed and put into use in August 2023.

The focus of the cooperation content in 2023 agreed by the two provinces' police is to promote comprehensive cooperation in all aspects, ensuring security and order, social safety, crime prevention, training and strengthening the core force between the two units.

Specifically, the two sides' police need to coordinate closely in capturing information and exchanging security and order situations; Continuously gain experience, organize professional training classes, and learn from each other to effectively prevent all types of crimes and hostile forces; Cooperate in controlling the process of citizens entering and exiting the country, promptly preventing bad people from illegally crossing the border.

In addition, the memorandum of cooperation in crime prevention between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Public Security of Laos also needs to be focused on effective implementation. The two provinces' police forces actively carry out propaganda work on laws and policies of the Party and State to the people; Help and create favorable conditions for citizens of the two countries to enter and exit the country to serve the needs of business, trade, medical examination and treatment, study, tourism, cultural exchange...

At the end of the conference, Director of the Provincial Police, Major General Nguyen Duc Dung, on behalf of the Quang Nam Provincial Police, presented 100 million VND to the Se Kong Provincial Police for the procurement of equipment for duty.
