Party leader sanguine about growing Vietnam-Laos solidarity

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong noted with satisfaction the growing special solidarity as well as achievements greatly contributed by the two National Assemblies at a July 17 reception in Hanoi for Vice Chairman of the Laos National Assembly (NA) Sengnouane Sayalat.

Sengnouane Sayalat showed his elation at the special solidarity between the two countries and glowingly spoke of the great, timely and effective assistance Vietnam has given to Laos throughout history.

He briefed his host about recent activities of the Laos NA, particularly the outcomes of its fifth session, cooperation between the two legislative bodies, and the outcomes of the talks and working sessions with Vietnamese NA members.

He affirmed the Laos NA’s readiness to coordinate closely with its Vietnamese counterpart to effectively implement the agreements reached by leaders of the two Parties, countries and NAs.

For his part, Party leader Trong welcomed the Vietnam visit by the Laos NA delegation and extolled the two legislative agencies’ cooperation, asking them to step up sharing information and legislative experience in supervising and deciding important issues.

He underlined the need to monitor, direct and promote ministries, sectors and localities’ implementation of agreements between Vietnamese and Laos Parties, Governments, as well as cooperation programs between the two legislative bodies.
