On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, a ceremony was held in Vientiane province, Laos, to honor the heroic martyrs of Vietnam and Laos. The event took place at the Lao Joint Forces Combat Monument in Keun village, Thoulakhom district, and the Vietnam Martyrs' Memorial in Phaxang village, Kasy district.
The ceremony was organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos in collaboration with the Central Lao Veterans Association and other relevant agencies. It was attended by representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy, Vietnamese associations in Laos and Vientiane, government officials, members of the Veterans Association, local residents, and Vietnamese individuals residing in Laos.
During the ceremony, Mr. Le Nho Thanh, Counselor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, highlighted the strong bond and solidarity between the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos. He acknowledged their shared history of overcoming adversities and fighting against common enemies, which led to remarkable victories in achieving national independence, unification, and the ongoing efforts to build and safeguard their homelands for a peaceful life today.
Mr. Le Nho Thanh expressed his hope that the younger generations of both Vietnam and Laos would carry forward the loyal and resilient traditions of their predecessors. He encouraged them to strive together in education and work to foster the strong and dynamic development of both nations. He emphasized the importance of preserving and nurturing the special friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, ensuring that it remains everlasting, sustainable, and evergreen.
