According to data from the Vietnam Customs Department, trade between Vietnam and Laos in January 2024 has experienced significant growth compared to the same period in 2023, reaching $174.4 million—an increase of 75.8%. Vietnam recorded a trade deficit of $60.8 million with Laos.

Vietnam Engages in ASEAN High-Level Dialogue on Economic Integration
On the afternoon of February 20th, a high-level dialogue on the economic integration of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was held in Vangvieng, Laos, to discuss the vision beyond 2025. The Vietnamese delegation, consisting of Thai Quynh Mai Dung, Standing Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, and Pham Thi Hong Yen, Standing Member of the Economic Committee, participated in the dialogue virtually from the headquarters of the National Assembly's offices.
