According to a reporter from the Vietnam News Agency in Laos, on the afternoon of September 30, in the capital Vientiane, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Mr. Nguyễn Minh Tâm, presented his credentials to the General Secretary and President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith.

On September 17, 2024, the Paxaxon electronic newspaper published an article titled “Lao-Vietnam Nurturing Great Friendship and Special Solidarity to New Heights.” This coincided with the State visit of General Secretary and President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith, and a high-level Lao delegation to Vietnam. Authored by Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Head of the Central Committee’s Foreign Affairs Department of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the article highlighted the importance of this visit for the special Vietnam-Laos relationship.

In the "Vietnam-Laos Joint Statement," both sides are committed to implementing measures to maintain bilateral trade growth at an average annual increase of 10-15%; promoting trade activities, brand building, and distribution channels for Vietnamese and Lao products in each country to create sustainable outlets for various goods; encouraging the use of local currencies in bilateral trade and investment transactions. Vietnam will provide every possible facilitation for Laos to import and export goods through Vietnam’s seaports.
