Binh Thuan Province Promotes Trade and Key Exports in Laos

4th June 2024 post by MOIT Vietnam

In June 2024, Bình Thuan Province will organize a trade promotion mission to Laos, aimed at showcasing the province’s image and expanding export markets for its key products. This initiative, led by the Bình Thuan Department of Industry and Trade, seeks to foster stronger economic ties between Bình Thuan and Laos, enhance the province’s visibility, and facilitate trade, tourism, and investment opportunities.

The commercial promotion activities in Laos are also aimed at boosting the export of products with advantages from Bình Thuận (illustrative image).

The trade delegation will visit Vientiane from June 18 to June 22, focusing on expanding market reach, enhancing product value, and boosting exports in the evolving economic landscape. Key products to be promoted include dragon fruit, seafood, agricultural goods, and industrial items. The mission is also part of a broader strategy to support Bình Thuan’s growth as a coastal province with significant potential and advantages in South Central Vietnam.

Representatives of Bình Thuan’s People's Committee, along with officials from related departments, will lead the delegation. Meetings with the Vietnamese Embassy, Trade Office, Lao officials, local businesses, and the Vietnam Business Association in Laos are planned. The delegation will also conduct site visits to commercial hubs, supermarkets, and wholesale markets in Vientiane and surrounding areas to gain insights into market demand, consumer trends, and pricing, enabling effective export strategies.

Preparations for the mission include developing bilingual (Vietnamese-English) promotional materials that present an overview of Bình Thuan’s trade and investment opportunities, alongside specific publications like "Bình Thuan’s Investment Potential," "Signature Rural Industrial Products," and "Bình Thuan Dragon Fruit." Brochures on key agricultural, forestry, and seafood products, as well as information on industrial parks in Bình Thuan, are also part of the promotional materials.

Bình Thuận has many agricultural and seafood products linked to the local potential and advantages.

Recently, Phan Văn Dang, Permanent Vice Chairman of Bình Thuan’s People’s Committee, reviewed the preparations for the delegation's participation. Recognizing the importance of promoting Bình Thuan’s image and boosting trade ties with Laos, he emphasized the need for local businesses to participate actively. The Bình Thuan Department of Industry and Trade continues to encourage business involvement, aiming for a successful trade promotion mission that will strengthen bilateral relations and economic cooperation between Bình Thuan and Laos.
