ASEAN 2016 Workshop: New way of thinking, right strategy, effective cooperation”
At the invitation of Chairman of Singapore Business Federation (SBF), a Mission led by Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Hoang Quoc Vuong attended ASEAN 2016 Workshop “New way of thinking, right strategy, effective cooperation” held by SBF on May 31st, 2016 in Suntec City, Singapore.
The Conference focuses on investment and business opportunities in Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar and experience sharing on investment and business doing in three ASEAN countries which become the most attractive investment destination for Singaporean businesses.
The Conference with attendance of Singaporean Minister of Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang; Indonesian Minister of Economic Coordination Darmin Nasution, Myanmar’s Minister of Trade Than Myint. The Conference also attracted participation of over 600 delegates from government’s agencies, embassies and business communities from ASEAN countries such as Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and ASEAN’s partner countries – China, Japan, EU and the USA.
The Heads of countries delegations had presentations on business environment, mechanism, and incentive policies for foreign investors.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Minister Hoang Quoc Vuong had brief on economic development in Vietnam, opportunities for business and investment in context of Vietnam’s AEC membership and country’s preparation for implementation of a number of new generation FTAs, sharing information on Vietnamese Government’s policies in creating business serving environment, improving business environment and country’s competitiveness. Facilitating foreign investors and keeping business environment improvement is a consistent policy of Vietnam, Vice Minister affirmed.
At the symposium sessions, businesses had exchange and experience sharing on investment and business in ASEAN, development of a new digital technology at high automatic level, new business and cooperation models between businesses in the USA, Japan, China and ASEAN.
