The Importance of Enhancing Collaboration Across Various Domains
There is a strong relationship between Vietnam and Laos, which is based on the two countries' shared commitment to defense and security. This foundation has not only remained in place, but it has also grown stronger as a result of increased cooperation between the two countries in order to protect their sovereignty, peace, and stability.
At the regional level, there has been an increase in collaboration, notably among the provinces that are next to Laos along the border of Vietnam for Vietnam. These agreements have become increasingly comprehensive and targeted in order to accomplish the goals of ensuring security and fostering socioeconomic development in border regions. At the neighborhood level, significant gains have been made as a result of collaborative activities in the areas of public safety, disaster response, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Additionally, there is economic partnership, which is beneficial to the situation. There has been a development of favorable trends in the areas of business and investment between the two countries. In the year 2024, the amount of USD 2.25 billion that was traded between the two countries set a new high, marking a 37% rise from the previous year. The volume of trade has topped two billion dollars, which is a tremendous achievement that surpasses the goals that were established by both governments and represents a historic milestone.
At the moment, Vietnam is considered to be one of the most important investors in Laos. The country is now working on 267 projects and has registered capital that exceeds 5.63 billion USD. A number of these projects have been successfully carried out, which has resulted in major benefits for the economy of Laos overall. Local livelihoods have been enhanced, thousands of jobs have been created, and government revenues have been increased as a result of their presence in important industries such as banking, telecommunications, food processing, dairy manufacturing, and rubber production and processing.
This is the future: moving forward in the direction of a profound connection with you
