Vietnam's Politburo member and the HCMA director paid Laos courtesy visits

8th October 2022 post by MOIT Vietnam

He stated that he is certain that the Lao people, guided by the LPRP, the Government, and the National Assembly, will continue to make progress toward implementing the Resolution that was passed at the 11th National Congress of the LPRP.

Thang expressed gratitude to Laos for their unflinching support of Vietnam over the course of many years. He also lauded the expansion of the great friendship, extraordinary solidarity, and comprehensive partnership between the two countries across all spheres of activity.

The Higher Commission for Media Affairs (HCMA) has committed to working closely with the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration in order to contribute to the achievement of the goals shared by both parties and to further strengthen the unique sense of solidarity that exists between the two countries (LNA).

On the occasion of the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year, the Laotian authorities praised the visit and stated that it would strengthen the bilateral special solidarity and collaboration between the two academies. This statement was made in conjunction with the celebration of the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year.

They complimented Vietnam for its helpful, honest, and beneficial aid to Laos throughout the country's struggle for national liberation, following efforts at rehabilitation and development, and continued education and training of its human resources.

The hosts had high hopes that the two academies would continue to increase the effectiveness of personnel training in Laos and contribute to the modernization efforts of both nations by exchanging and exploring fresh information and ideas.
During the Vietnam-Laos Year of Solidarity and Friendship, both countries made a commitment to work together to promote and pass on the tradition of bilateral special solidarity to future generations, enhance the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation mechanisms in a variety of fields, and carry out the agreements made by the leaders of the two Parties and countries. This commitment was made during the Vietnam-Laos Year of Solidarity and Friendship.

The Vietnamese delegation attended a ceremony hosted by the LNA on the same day to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties as well as the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation. Thang, on behalf of the leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State, presented the Vietnamese Party and State's Orders to individuals and groups within the LNA in recognition of their contributions to the training of personnel, scientific research, and external activities that have helped strengthen bilateral special relations. During their time in Vientiane, the group made a stop to the Nguyen Du Lao-Vietnamese bilingual school. This was one among the many stops on their itinerary.

Thang and Phouvong Unkhamxen, a member of the LPRP Central Committee and the Director of the LNA, met on December 4 and discussed future directions for cooperation. These future directions include the creation of training programs for military personnel, the compilation of Kaysone Phomvihane Thought, and the construction of new LNA base in Champasak, a province in southern Laos. Mr. Phouvong Unkhamxen also received the Second-class Independence Medal from Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang.
