Vietnam and Laos Strengthen Economic Ties Through Collaborative Efforts
From July 25 to July 29, 2024, the Vietnam-Laos Trade Fair (VIETLAO EXPO 2024) was held at the Lao International Trade Exhibition and Convention Center (ITECC) in Vientiane, Laos. The Ministries of Industry and Trade of both Vietnam and Laos organize this highly anticipated annual event, which serves as the most significant platform for trade promotion between the two countries, with the aim of reinforcing the growing economic ties and fostering deeper cooperation between these Southeast Asian neighbors.

Strengthening Coal Trade Ties Between Vietnam and Laos
Nguyen Hong Dien presided over a conference focused on enhancing coal trade between Vietnam and Laos. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long and leaders from relevant departments, including the Department of Oil and Coal, the Department of Asian-African Markets, the Electricity Regulatory Authority, the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and the Office of the Ministry. Representatives from major Vietnamese corporations, such as the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV), the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN), the Vietnam Electricity (EVN), and the Northeast Corporation, were also present.

Regional Unity Through Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Partnerships
From July 11 to 13, Vietnamese President To Lam led a high-ranking delegation to conduct state visits to Laos and Cambodia. This diplomatic mission was deemed highly successful, as it solidified traditional relations and cooperation among the three neighboring countries: Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Additionally, the visit served to counter misleading information propagated by hostile forces regarding the state of Vietnam's relations with these two countries.
