VietinBank: a bridge connecting the trade and investment of Vietnam and Laos

Opening the first branch in Laos since February 2012, after more than 7 years of development, VietinBank Laos has developed several products and services for enterprises and people of the two countries, contributing to the development of the Laos’ socio-economic.

On September 17, 2019, VietinBank held the Opening Ceremony of VietinBank Laos Head Office Building. This affirmed the commitment of VietinBank to long-term investment and cooperation in Laos.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor of State Bank of Vietnam Le Minh Hung said: “I believe, with the direction of the Board of Directors of VietinBank, with the results and experiences gained over the years, with the determination, dynamism, creativity and solidarity of the Board of Directors and staffs of VietinBank, they will continuously develop in the future and contributing positively to the socio-economic development of  Laos and the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos.”

VietinBank Laos has opened 1 head office, 2 branches in Vientiane and Champasak; 1 Mekong transaction office. The total number of employees has grown to over 100 staffs. It is expected that VietinBank Laos will continue to expand its network in other provinces of Laos such as Savanakhet, Bolikhamxay, Luangphabang, Atapu ...

On this occasion, Mr. Le Duc Tho - Chairman of the Board of Directors presented VietinBank, presented USD 100,000 to the Lao Government to support victims of Storm Podul in several provinces in central and southern Laos.
