Signing Ceremony of Vietnam - Laos Scientific Cooperation Agreement
On the afternoon of June 30, 2023, the signing ceremony of a scientific cooperation agreement between the four parties of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, the Lao National Academy of Politics and Administration and Lao National Institute of Economic and Social Sciences was solemnly held in Hanoi.
The above agreement is a bridge for the two countries to exchange science, coordinate research on scientific topics, organizing research activities and international scientific conferences, especially providing scientific basis for the formation and development of solidarity, special friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. The two sides will increase experience sharing and improve the capacity of core staff in management, science, and teaching. This is preparation for the strong development of the two countries, widely promoting the scientific research achievements that each country has achieved to friend countries in the region and on the international area.
Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang at the ceremony highly appreciated the signing of a scientific cooperation agreement between the two countries. The agreement is based on the spirit of voluntariness, equality, and mutual assistance, stemming from the need for social science development of the two countries Vietnam and Laos. This is the factor which contributes to building and fostering great friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the Party, State and people of the two countries.
To properly implement the above agreement, joint research activities between the two sides need to be strengthened, regularly exchanging information and sharing experiences on theories and practices of the socio-economic development process, gradually deepen and deepen international integration. At the same time, promote the organization of political theory training courses, professional training, improve foreign languages, training and exchange experts, cooperate in organizing international scientific conferences, and help each other participate in international scientific conferences, organize translation and publication of scientific works from Vietnamese to Lao and vice versa; Organize exchanges and cooperation between the Youth Unions of both sides. The scientific cooperation agreement between Vietnam and Laos is valid until 2027.
