Signed the EPC contract for the expansion of the Vinh Tan 4 thermo power plant
The Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant project is being invested by the Vietnam Electricity Group and the Electricity Generating Corporation No. 3 (EVNGENCO 3) as the project management unit located at Vinh Tan Electricity Center, Vinh Tan Commune, Tuy Phong District, Binh Thuan Province.
The expansion of Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant has been approved by the Prime Minister in the Power Plan VII and the list of urgent investment projects for the period 2013-2020.
The plant has a capacity of 600 MW, using supercritical coal mining technology imported. The plant will be put into operation by the end of 2019, which is expected to provide 3.6 billion kWh per year to the national grid and the south. The selected contractor is Doosan - Mitshubishi - PECC2 - Pacific.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Hoang Quoc Vuong emphasized that Vinh Tan Power Center is the largest power center in the country, with a designed capacity of nearly 6,000 MW. Factories and projects under the Vinh Tan Power Center play an important role in supplying electricity to the South. Therefore, the units participating in the project must mobilize the necessary resources, promote dynamism and creativity to deploy the project on schedule and efficiency.
Previously on 9-3-2013, EVN also kicked off the construction of Vinh Tan 4 thermo power plant. Vinh Tan 4 thermo power plant has a capacity of 1,200 MW, including 2 units with total investment 36,000 billion.
