Remains of 21 Vietnamese soldiers repatriated from Laos, Cambodia
After five months of efforts during the ongoing 2019-2020 dry season, Team K53 from the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum had by April 7 repatriated those of 21 Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts who laid down their lives while conducting international missions in Laos and Cambodia.
All of the remains have been taken to Kon Tum’s Ngoc Hoi district. (Source: VOV)
Kon Tum (VNA) - After five months of efforts during the ongoing 2019-2020 dry season, Team K53 from the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum had by April 7 repatriated those of 21 Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts who laid down their lives while conducting international missions in Laos and Cambodia.
All of the remains have been taken to Kon Tum’s Ngoc Hoi district.
Of the remains, five were found in the Lao provinces of Sekong, Attapeu and Champasack, and the rest, in Ta Veaeng district in Cambodia’s Rattanakiri province.
Though the identities of the martyrs are still unknown, most of the biological samples extracted from the remains for DNA testing are in good condition, according to the team in charge of searching for remains of Vietnamese soldiers./.
