Import turnover of paper products grow
Import value of paper products in May increased by 18% compared to April, reaching USD 62.1 million, increasing the import value of this commodity in the first five months of 2017 to USD 264.4 million, up 11.56%. % compared to the same period last year.
Being a geographically favorable market for transportation of goods, China continues to be the main market for imports of paper products from Vietnam, accounting for 41.3% of total turnover, reaching 109.4 million USD, up 26.18%. The second largest market after China is Thailand, accounting for 11.8%, reaching $ 31.2 million, but compared with the same period the pace of imports decreased slightly, down 1.85%. South Korea and Japan had a positive growth rate of 6.9% and 26.61% respectively, reaching $ 23.3 million and $ 13.3 million, respectively.
In addition to these major markets, Vietnam also imports other markets such as Malasyia, Germany, the United States and Singapore.
In the first five months of this year, imports of paper products showed a positive growth rate in all markets, accounting for 70%, of which Indonesia increased sharply by 52.94%, contrary to the market. With the rate of decline only 30% and imported from Malaysia the strongest, down 3.25%.
In addition to the Indonesian market has strong growth, but some markets also have relatively high growth rates such as: Singapore increased by 15.94%; Japan increased by 26.61%.
