A conference was conducted in Vientiane on November 4 with the objective of strengthening regional connectivity and establishing the East-West logistics corridors. The meeting was organized with the purpose of developing the East-West logistics corridors. This conference brought together approximately 80 firms from a variety of nations, as well as a number of government organizations from both Vietnam and Laos, as well as groups specializing in logistics and industry professionals.

The organizing committee is of the opinion that Laos has a significant amount of potential to develop into a regional transportation hub as a result of its pivotal placement along the route that connects China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Myanmar. The reason for this opinion is that Laos's location along the route that connects China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Myanmar all share a common border with Laos.

There are many favorable circumstances for the creation of the East-West logistic corridor in Laos, including the railway connection between Kunming and Vientiane, canal transport linkages on the Mekong Delta River, highways and borders with Vietnam and Thailand, and so on.

Recently, Somvixay Vongthirath, who is the Vice Director of the Trade Promotion Department within the Ministry of Industry and Trade, delivered a speech on the importance of logistics in increasing the amount of import and export activity in Laos. The topic of his talk was the relevance of logistics in increasing the amount of import and export activity.
In spite of the fact that Laos is completely surrounded by land, Vietnam has provided the nation with assistance with sea transit, he added, and in the future, Laos will continue to deepen border economic cooperation and logistical linkages with Vietnam.

At the conference, the Deputy General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation, Bui Van Quy, delivered a speech in which he reaffirmed the significance of Laos to the expansion of the ASEAN Community. In his remarks, he focused on the importance of Laos in relation to the expansion of the ASEAN Community. He also stated his hope that, as a direct consequence of the conference, Laos's logistics firms would notice the potential in extending their operations to nations in the surrounding area. His hope was that this would be a direct effect of the conference.

He emphasized that his company hoped to contribute to the development of Laos' transportation sector by developing solutions that would link it to the seaports and inland container depots, warehouses, and logistics services of Saigon Newport Corporation. This was in reference to the fact that Saigon Newport Corporation is located in Vietnam. He was alluding to the great prospects that the East-West logistics routes give for Vietnam and Laos to improve their collaboration in the logistics sector. These chances are presented by the fact that the East-West logistical corridors will connect the two countries.

Participants in the event discussed the current state of the Laotian logistics industry, including its connections to regional markets, its opportunities for development, and the challenges it is now facing. Representatives from the Lao International Truck and Forwarder Association (LITFA) stated that the organization intends to form strategic partnerships with logistics firms and organizations in neighboring countries, with a particular emphasis on Vietnam. These statements were made in reference to the LITFA's goal to expand its operations into neighboring countries. These collaborations will be developed with a specific emphasis on Vietnam as the target market.

Concerns about trade in the area were raised by a significant number of the speakers as well. The Saigon Newport Corporation, the Lao International Trade and Finance Association, and the Association of Vietnamese Businesses in Laos came to an agreement at the conference about how they will work together in the future. This agreement was signed after the discussions that took place at the conference.
