A new direction for cooperation in the development of the automobile industry between Vietnam and Laos

VinFast has just signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate with the Phongsubthavy Group of Laos to distribute VinFast models to this market.

On June 28, VinFast and Phongsubthavy Group of Laos signed a memorandum of cooperation, committing to discuss and consider the possibility of Phogsubthavy becoming the exclusive distributor of VinFast automotive product lines in the Laos market.

VinFast said that if Phongsubthavy meets the conditions and standards of finance, human resource, sales, and investment prospects, the group will become VinFast's priority partner in business expansion activities and business in Laos.

Phongsavath Senaphuan - Chairman of the Phongsubthavy Group said that they chose VinFast because of the amazing growth of this brand in the past time. Meanwhile, Mr. Hoang Chi Trung - General Director of VinFast affirmed that international cooperation is always a priority of VinFast.

The roadmap and specific plans of both in bringing VinFast cars to Laos are still under discussion. In Vietnam, VinFast currently sells 3 models including A-class hatchback Fadil, E-class sedan Lux A2.0 and SUV Lux SA2.0. In November 2021, the company will be launching the sale of sell its first electric crossover, called the VF e34. In VinFast's international expansion plans, the company will bring two more electric car models, the VF e35 and VF e36, to the US and Europe in 2022.

Phongsubthavy is a group operating in the fields of construction, real estate, energy and commerce. Prior to its coorperation with VinFast, the group cooperated with EVN to export electricity from Laos to Vietnam.
