The fact that both Vietnam and Laos are willing to offer a hand to one another is a testament to the extraordinary bonds that exist between the two countries. There is evidence to suggest that Vietnam and Laos collaborated and aided one another throughout their separate national liberation battles of the past. A high-ranking official in the Laotian government sent me this knowledge. The recent growth and strengthening of the bilateral partnership has benefitted all dimensions of the relationship, including the political and security realms, the cultural and social spheres, the domains of cultural exchange, and the spheres of social engagement. That's because progress has been made in every area of the connection, therefore the whole thing has improved. Increased economic cooperation has elevated Vietnam to the position of third-largest investor and crucial commercial partner in Laos.

To say this is a positive change would be an understatement. The two countries, Vietnam and Laos, have benefited by working together in a variety of fields. These fields include, but are not limited to, communication, education, and the development of human resources. More than 50,000 students from Laos have studied in Vietnam over the last decade, and the number is now hovering around 14,000.
In a recent address, the Deputy Prime Minister of Laos spoke on the importance of the forthcoming Laos-Vietnam, Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year (2022) and the objectives to be achieved during that period. Timetabled for occurrence between the two nations is the year 2022. He said that the bond shared by the two countries is unparalleled.

Aside from being a watershed point in the relationship between the two countries, this summit is also significant in the annals of the respective administrations and the peoples of both nations.
Throughout the course of this year, several initiatives have been implemented to raise awareness of the deep links that bind Vietnam and Laos, especially among the younger generations who make up the populations of both nations. The populations of both countries are mostly comprised of these younger generations. The nature of the connection between Vietnam and Laos has never been in question; it has always been a fraternal one.
The current year has been designated as the Laos-Vietnam, Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year in the hopes that it will bring attention to the special nature of the relationship between the two countries and inspire future generations of Vietnamese and Laotians to continue and expand upon the legacy of solidarity established by their forebears. As an added bonus, it is intended that the special traits of the bond between

We want the people of Vietnam and Laos to understand that the present cooperative relationship between their countries is similar to the linkages that the two nations had during the previous war for national independence. We hope that the people of Vietnam and Laos, as well as the rest of the world, can see how the contemporary cooperative relationship between the two countries mirrors the ties that existed between them historically. Together, Laos and Vietnam continue to help each other develop economically and socially. This is a prime example of the exceptional nature of the collaboration that exists between Laos and Vietnam, a partnership that yields substantial benefits for the people of both countries.
